The French International School of Brussels (EFI Brussels) is a French school certified by the French Ministry of Education and approved as partner of the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad). The school is part of the Odyssey school network, which includes several schools around the world.
Official approval recognizes the quality of school teachings and supports its educational project.
EFI Brussels is a bilingual school (French and English) and it follows the curriculum of the French Minsitry of Education.
EFI Brussels combines French academic excellence and the dynamism of international schools. This combination of the “best of both worlds” is supported by a French and international educational team rigorously selected to implement a unique educational model in Brussels where students of all nationalities will be supported on the path to success.
EFI Brussels curently welcomes students from Early Years (2 and half years old) to CM2 (10 years old). The middle and high school will be opened by 2024 and students will obtain French state diplomas: the Brevet national diploma with its international option and the Baccalauréat with its international option (OIB), as well as international language certifications.
The school is established at the Domaine Latour de Freins and offers a pleasant, prestigious and safe environment wholly dedicated to our pupils’ learning and development.
EFI Brussels is :
A French school focused on academic excellence
Teachings strictly follow the curriculum of the French Ministry of Education. Regardless of their nationality, all students receive individual support following an academic curriculum internationally recognised for its rigour and the wide knowledge it develops. This education will lead students to the French Baccalauréat and then to the best universities in the world.
A Bilingual education from the beginning of preschool
As early as preschool, pupils learn English but also in English! This means that after completing school at EFI Brussels, pupils are able to speak and write in both languages. Teaching in English represents half of school time in kindergarten and elementary school.
From middle school, pupils will also be offered the option of learning Dutch, and other languages (Spanish, Chinese, German, etc.). To this end, the school applies a teaching program based on immersion, progressivity, personalisation and active learning. All language teachers are native speaking teaching graduates.
An international openness that promotes the understanding of the world
The educational project encourages children to develop an outward-looking international perspective and to be opened to other cultures. This translates into a vibrant cosmopolitan community that actively interacts with schools worldwide and in particular with schools of the Odyssey network or the AEFE network.
Open to students of all nationalities, EFI Brussels is able to welcome non-French-speaking or non-English-speaking students, in kindergarten or elementary school. To succeed in this integration, the school has set up a Portal Program allowing fast learning of French and harmonious integration into our curriculum, as well as groups of according levels for learning English.
An educational project for tomorrow’s world
The school applies positive and active teaching methods that have their roots in cognitive sciences and are aimed at reinforcing self-confidence and facilitating the acquisition of 21st century skills (communication, creativity, computer and other technological skills...). The pedagogical team prioritises personal growth and success of each pupil.
